Migraine Cause Fever

Migraine Cause Fever
Could Propranolol for Migraines cause fever?

Started Propranalol for Migraines (gone-yahoo!) nearly a month ago, but have had a nasty fever of 100-102 degrees and some body aches ever since (all the time including bad drenching night sweats/chills.) Doctor lowered dosage from 60-40mg per day but still have fever. Didn't take it today, but still have fever of 101.6 (otherwise, I feel ok) Should I look for other reasons or stop the Propranolol which neurologist doesn't want me to do?

Fever accompanied with pain & sore throat are common reactions when someone is allergic to Propranolol. You can ask for a second opinion if your neurologist won't give you any alternative to propranolol. It would probably better if you stop Propranolol first while the doctor rules out that the fever is not related to the drug. After all, it might be coincidence that you had fever at the same period you took the drug.
